Bio
Margueritte Hickman first experienced fire with the Oregon Department of Forestry during the 1987 wildfire season which sparked a career passion of safety in her community. After 10 years with the Oregon Department of Forestry, she pursued her interest with structural departments first as a volunteer firefighter and then in career fire prevention positions. During the last 13 years of her career as the Division Chief of Fire & Life Safety/Fire Marshal in Ashland, Oregon, she served the community through inspections in both new construction and existing buildings, plan reviews, fire investigations and public relations. She is an IAAI-CFI and an ICC Fire Inspector II. She continues her passion for teaching and mentoring through Sage Fire Solutions, LLC, and the community college. In her non-working life, she is a pilot, camper, hiker and traveler with her husband Don.

Don Hickman

Bio
After serving in the US Army following high school, Don Hickman spent the majority of his 30 year career as a firefighter/paramedic. As a Deputy Fire Marshal, Don served his southern Oregon community through plan review, inspecting buildings for fire safety, investigating the causes of fires and public relations. He continues to provide fire investigation classes to our future generation of firefighters through the community college. Don’s life-long love of photography has taken flight as he provides aerial photography services for fire investigations and other emergency services. Don is both a private pilot and a UAS 107 pilot. Don enjoys flying, camping, fishing, hunting and travelling with his wife Margueritte.
